But it's not all bad! Overall it has been a pretty great winter! I've been snowboarding and ice climbing all over the place. Snowboarding at Mammoth, June, Heavenly, and then some local backcountry stuff on Mt Baldy and Mt Baden Powell. Good stuff! But ice has been the focus. Two trips to Ouray for about 9 days of climbing, a trip to Lundy Falls, and a few trips to Lee Vining. About 14 days on the ice. Not too bad when I look at how busy my schedule has been! And I finally got on the Main Wall at Lee Vining! After thinking about it for two weeks between trips to Lee Vining, I decided to lead the Main Line. It was awesome!

Add to that a trip to the East Coast for a long weekend, and it has been a pretty exciting winter.

So what's next? Well, its off to Vegas this weekend for some climbing in Red Rocks! I'm looking forward to it. It's been several months since my last trip to Red Rocks, so I'm anxious to get back on the rock there. I've finally started getting back to the gym on a more routine basis. My rock/gym climbing has definitely suffered with all of the focus on ice climbing, but that's alright. That's what spring is for! Hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things this weekend.
I'm still hoping to get into the mountains for more splitboarding action this spring. Snow continues to fall, although the warm weather has made for an interesting winter. We'll see what the next month brings us!
